ABOUT
Hey There!
I'm Joshua, I am a mixed media artist from the West Side of Chicago. I am a graduate from Kalamazoo College with a BA in Studio Art, and a concentration in film and media. I am proud Puerto Rican inspired by family members like my mom, who's a dancer, and my dad who was a graffiti artist. I also had uncles who liked to draw and allowed me to appreciate artistic expression. I love to create work representative of my home and grapple with conceptual ideas.
My recent works involve the recreation of past moments in Chicago, adding a metaphorical flair hoping to elicit an emotional response. I prefer leaving room for audience interpretation. With a lived experience in Chicago, I aim to draw on emotions that are hard to put into words. With a mixed media approach, I try to bridge the parallel between drawing and painting by including a multitude of mediums in my work.
